About Us
For many years we owned Labrador Retrievers. My Husband Mike loves to upland bird hunt and Labs make wonderful, flexible hunting dogs, with friendlier, mellower dispositions than many other high-strung bird dogs. While Labs really are wonderful dogs, they are not without faults! The worst of them being how much hair they shed, which is very extreme!

Most of the Labs we owned also had numerous health issues, including hip problems and food allergies.

Our first two grandsons both developed allergies to pet hair, and so we realized that our next breed of dog would have to be an allergy-friendly breed. Thus began my search for the perfect dog!

After 18 months of research, we discovered that the Australian Labradoodle was the perfect choice for our family. As Colorado outdoor lovers, we spend a lot of time camping, hunting, fishing, and playing in the mountains, and wanted a smaller dog that we could take with us everywhere.

At the time, we also operated a PADI Scuba Dive Center and summer swim school from our home and wanted a dog friendly with all people and children as well as one that we could swim with, without worrying about hair clogging the pool filters!

With the Australian Labradoodles, we found everything we wanted in one amazing breed! An allergy-friendly, non-shedding dog, with the personality traits we loved in the Lab, but with the coat, health, and size of the other breeds that went into the Australian founder’s research of creating this wonderful, perfect breed of dog!
